Dropping a pin is useful when you know where a stop belongs on the map but do not have a street address, or when search does not return the right spot.

Before you drop a pin
Zoom in close on the map before you place the pin. The closer you zoom, the more accurately you can position the stop.
How do I drop a pin on the map?
There is no separate confirmation pop-up. You place the pin on the map, drag it if needed, watch the coordinates update, then add it to your route.
Open your route on the Planner Map and zoom in on the area where the stop belongs.
Long-press the map to drop a pin.
Drag the pin to fine-tune the location. The latitude and longitude update as you move it.
When the pin is in the right place, tap Add to Route.
Can I set a start point or save a favorite?
Yes. From the same pin placement flow you can:
- Add to Route — add the location as a stop on your current route.
- Set as Start Point — make this pin where the route begins. See Start and end points.
- Save as Favorite — store the location for reuse. See Create a favorite.
Pin in the wrong place?
Zoom in further and long-press again (or click again on web) closer to the intended spot.
Drag the pin after dropping it instead of accepting the first placement.
Compare the displayed latitude and longitude to a known reference if you have coordinates handy.
